The rules, plainly

These terms cover your use of BoringProducts (boringproducts.xyz). By creating an account, launching a product, voting or paying, you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use the site.

1. Accounts

You need to be at least 16 to have an account. One person, one account. You're responsible for what happens under it, so keep access to your email and sign-in providers safe.

2. Launching a product

• Only submit products you make or are allowed to represent, and keep the details accurate.
• We review every submission and may edit or decline it. Empty descriptions, dead links, affiliate stores, scams, malware and anything illegal get declined.
• By submitting, you let us show your product name, description, logo and screenshots on BoringProducts, in our newsletter, in feeds such as llms.txt, and in social posts about the board. You keep all your rights.
• Approved products get a permanent page. You can ask us to remove it at any time.

3. Unclaimed listings

We may list a product from its own public website before its maker joins. Those listings are marked unclaimed. The maker can claim one by proving they own the domain, or have it removed from the listing page or by writing to hello@boringproducts.xyz.

4. Voting

• One vote per person per product. Rank is votes, with ties going to the product approved first.
• No fake accounts, bought votes, vote-swapping rings or scripts. We may remove votes, products or accounts involved in manipulation, without refund.
• Paid plans never change rank.

5. Badges and links

Free listings link to your site with a do-follow link while our badge is on your homepage. If we can't find it on two weekly checks in a row, the link becomes nofollow until you put it back. Paid listings are paid placements, so their link is marked rel="sponsored", as search engines ask. We can change how links and badges work, and we don't promise any search ranking.

6. Paid plans

• Premium, bundles and sponsor slots are one-time payments, not subscriptions. Prices are shown before you pay.
• Payments are processed by Dodo Payments as merchant of record, which also handles tax and receipts. Their terms apply to the payment.
• If we decline your product after you paid, we refund you in full. Otherwise, because the work is delivered when your listing goes live, payments aren't refundable except where the law says they must be. Write to us if something went wrong and we'll sort it out.
• Sponsored placements are always labelled as sponsored.

7. Things you can't do

Don't scrape the site in bulk, overload it, try to break into accounts, get around limits, or use it to send spam. Don't post anything that infringes someone else's rights.

8. Our content

The BoringProducts name, logo and design are ours. Product content belongs to its makers.

9. No guarantees

BoringProducts is provided as is. We try to keep it running and accurate but don't guarantee uptime, traffic, votes or results from a launch. Products listed here are made by others; we don't endorse them.

10. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

11. Ending things

You can stop using BoringProducts and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

12. Changes and law
